1. One activity that can be used to improve comprehension is called Lights, camera, action! This activity encourages students to use storylines of various narratives to make a dramatic video. The students can choose a variety of ways to address this activity, they could: act out the story in a summarised manner using their own words, create a version of the story from the point of view of another character (predict/infer) or they could recite the book word for word. This activity focuses mainly on summarising, inferring and predicting.
2.Another hands on activity related to reading comprehension is Guess who charades. When the class has finished reading a book, the names of all of the different characters are placed in a hat and the students take it in turn to play charades. This activity allows students to ask questions about all of the characters in the book and act the way the characters do in order to find out who they are.
